Obama called for the Illinois Governor to step down after recent recordings reveiled that the Governor attempted to sell the President-elects vacant senate seat to the highest bidder. Obama has assured the American public that his office had no role in Governor Blagojevich’s actions.
Meanwhile, legislative leaders plan to have a special session on Monday in an attempt to strip the Governor of power and prevent him from picking the next Illinois Senator. “I just don’t foresee him being the governor indefinitely with this cloud hanging over him,” Republican Sen. Christine Radogno said. “There is an awful lot of impetus to move him out of the way.”
Blagojevich’s representatives maintain that he is innocent.
