Digital News Report- Negotiations ended on Wednesday between tree sitters and University representatives without resolution. The tree sitters, who are protesting a proposed biomedical research facility, have been staked out on the University of California, Santa Cruz campus for the past 13 months.
Campus spokesman Jim Burns said he could not reveal details about why the talks disintegrated or how the university will approach the tree-sit going forward. However, he did say that the University would move forward with plans to build the new facility on UCSC’s Science Hill.
