Digital News Report– The SketchFest is returning to San Francisco for its’ 8th year from January 15th-30th. David Owen, Cole Stratton and Janet Varney founded the Festival in 2001 to showcase comedy groups in the San Francisco area, which now attracts world famous comedians such as Rob Riggle and Rob Corddry from The Daily Show. This years line up will also feature the comedy troops Upright Citizens Brigade A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T. and The 3 Actorteers.
The list of famous names is too long to list here, but their website has a complete list and line up. You can also purchase tickets online. A quick drop of a few more famous names, however, includes Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Robert Smigel in conversation with Dana Carvey, Oscar Nunez, Kate Flannery, and Moral Orel, which includes a panel with Dino Stamatopoulos and Scott Adsit. The list goes on and on and on.
SF Sketchfest will also be saluting actor Bud Cort, known by many from his title role in the classic comedy Harold and Maude, with a screening of that film at the Castro Theatre on January 22. Cort will be participating in an onstage conversation following the film and take questions from the audience.
