Digital News Report- Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The stage show will feature park guests performing for the grand prize, a “Dream Ticket” to audition for the actual American Idol TV show.
Contestants will perform live in front of a Disney’s Hollywood Studios producer before getting a chance to perform onstage in front of judges who are also park guests. At the end of the day, the performers with the highest scores will perform at a Grand Finale show. The winner will get to skip the line and try out at the next regional American Idol audition.

All guests age 14 and older are eligible to audition. They will first need to sing a song a capella before moving on the a stage performance with pre-recorded music. People who have a chance to perform on stage will be able to spend time backstage with a vocal coach, hair stylist and make-up artist before their performance.
American Idol began in 2002 based off of the British TV show, Pop Idol. It premiered at 9.9 million viewers and has grown to a staggering 31 million viewers as of the season 7 finale. The show is consistently in the top three spots for its ratings in its time slot. The show broadcasts in over 100 nations.
