Digital News Report – Right now Microsoft Office 2010 is being used in beta, but you will be able to buy it soon. The company will be showing off their new suite of programs at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week.
So how much will MS Office cost? Microsoft has released this information today. The student version will cost $99 while the Professional Business version will set you back nearly five hundred dollars ($499). There are four versions available: Office Home and Business, Office Professional, Office Home and Student, and Office Professional Academic. These are boxed versions of their product.
If you don’t need the box, you can save some money. When you buy a computer with a pre-loaded version of Microsoft Office, you can buy a “Product Key Card” for that single license. You will not get a DVD with that purchase (hopefully your hard-drive does not crash).
Version | Boxed Product | Product Key Card |
Office Home and Student | $149.00 | $119.00 |
Office Home and Business | $279.00 | $199.00 |
Office Professional | $499.00 | $349.00 |
Office Professional Academic | $99.00 | N/A |
