Digital News Report – It seems that everyone can’t wait for the new Apple iSlate to be unveiled. Even a statement saying the device exists would relieve a lot of grief. But so far the company has not uttered a word about it.
One website, ValleyWag, offered a reward for a picture of the Apple iSlate, reader, tablet, or whatever you want to call it. They received some interesting pictures, but they also received a letter from Apple attorneys saying they crossed the line.
This year tablets were the big hit at the 2010 CES show in Las Vegas. Everyone was coming out with their version, including Dell. It is rumored that both Google and Apple are working on tablets. But so far, all we have are rumors.
But Apple attorney’s, Orrick, may have tipped the public off concerning Apple’s plans. In a letter to ValleyWag they suggest there may be a tablet.
““While Apple values and appreciates vibrant public commentary about its products, we believe you and your company crossed the line by offering a bounty for the theft of Apple’s trade secrets,” the lawyers said. “Such an offer is illegal and Apple insists that you immediately discontinue the Scavenger Hunt.”
The letter referred to “an unannounced and highly confidential Apple product.”

I wonder if anyone will take Gawkers up on this offer.
