Digital News Report – Pentax unveiled three new digital cameras today. They say these cameras are not “just another silver digital camera.”
Optio I-10
The company released information about their new Optio I-10 which will go on sale in February. This is a 12-megapixel camera that will sell for around $300. With 5X-optical-zoom, the camera can also record HD video.
Optio H90
But wait, they aren’t done. For those looking to spend less money, the company has introduced the Optio H90 for around $180. It also has a 5-times optical zoom, but the image stabilization may not be as good. This camera can also capture video.
Optio E90
Their third camera is only 10 megapixels and will sell for around $100. Unlike some of the other low price cameras that only offer “digital” zoom, the Pentax Optio E90 has a 3X-optical-zoom lens. It can also capture video.
While the I-10 and H90 are High Definition video cameras, the E90 is only standard. The I-10 and the H90 have a large 2.7-inch LCD monitor on the back. It is unclear what the E90 has.
All of these cameras will be released next month.
