Digital News Report – While Apple is expected to make a significant on January 26th concerning their new iSlate tablet, Google and HTC have been working on their own content-rich tablet. The Google Tablet will likely feature their chrome browser, according to a piece at the Gizmodo website.

The Taiwan manufacturer, HTC, has been manufacturing electronics since 1999 when they developed a color palm-sized PC. Their new mobile phones feature Google’s Android operating system.

There could be a battle of tablets this year as Apple and Google slug it out for new markets. Sony, Amazon and other manufacturers have been making tablets for years, but Apple’s offering may bring about real change in this market.
