Digital News Report – Thanks to the passage of AB 32 (The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006), in the last two years the California Air Resources Board has required many California facilities (small businesses, public universities, farms, public waste management facilities and others) to report their annual emissions.
CARB will require many of these facilities to participate in their proposed cap-and-trade program and impose new taxes on them as an added “cost of doing business” in the Golden State.
Additionally, CARB is in the midst of passing other onerous regulations that will drive up the cost of your electricity rates, increase the gas price at the pump, and make putting food on your table more expensive.
Obviously, these increased taxes and costs will have a devastating effect on every California family, business and farm. With more than 2 million people out of work, our state cannot afford another costly tax increase that will send more hard working Californians to the unemployment rolls.

This site will serve as a clearinghouse for facts, figures and news concerning AB 32 regulations. Every Californian should understand the economic catastrophe that will occur if CARB is left unchallenged.
As your Senator, my job is to protect and expand individual liberties and opportunities – not diminish them, which is what will happen if CARB is allowed to continue unchecked. That is why I support public policies that promote economic development by encouraging entrepreneurship and private sector job creation. I remain committed to protect Californians from these costly and unnecessary CARB regulations and will continue to call for the immediate suspension of the Global Warming Tax.
