Digital News Report – Carnival Cruise Lines have officially begun their year-round cruise schedule launching from Charleston, South Carolina. The Carnival Fantasy ship will be used at this location for five, six, and seven day long voyages. The destinations included are the Bahamas, Key West Florida and Bermuda. The Bermuda destinations will begin in 2011.
To celebrate the beginning of Carnival Cruise Lines new port location in Charleston, South Carolina, the Carnival Fantasy ship was accompanied this Tuesday morning by a fleet of maritime industry vessels in the Port of Charleston. Those included The Spirit of South Carolina, Charleston Water Taxis, Moran Tug Company, SpiritLine Cruises, and the Charleston Harbor Pilots. The Mayor of the City of Charleston, Joseph P. Riley, along with the South Carolina State Port Authority President attended a luncheon event alongside Carnival Cruise Lines executives.
The Carnival Fantasy ship will dock at the Port of Charleston and offer year round cruises to the Bahamas, Key West Florida, and next year Bermuda. The Carnival Fantasy carries 2,56 passengers and has many activities on board the ship to entertain people of all ages. They have a 12,000 square foot health spa, a children’s facilities broken up in three age groups. There is also both formal and casual dining available along with 12 lounges and bars. The aqua park is on board the Carnival Fantasy and it has a 300 foot long water slide along with an 82 foot long racing slides and a splashing area. There are adults only retreat area and also a resort-style swimming pool area.
