Digital News Report – While Americans may complain about the price and coverage of their health insurance, one thing nearly everyone realizes is the importance of good medical insurance.
This article compares health insurance policies with a deductible of $2,000 or lower. We also narrowed our search to policies that include drug coverage and maternal care. The final cost of the plan may depend on the patient’s age.
Kaiser Permanente
Only one of the plans we evaluated was eligible for Health Savings Accounts (HAS). The Keiser Permanente Deductible 0/1500 with HSA HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) was eligible. The Keiser plan has a $1,500 deductible with zero co-insurance. The price for this plan is $213 for an individual.
The Copayment 25 Kaiser plan has a $0 deductible and only $25 office visits. This plan had zero-percent co-insurance too. The co-insurance is the amount the insured pays after the co-payment or deductible is reached. This plan cost $330 per month (premium).
Anthem Blue Cross
Anthem has several PPO and HMO plans. The HMO Select insurance plan has a $0 copayment and a 20 percent co-insurance and $25 office visits. This plan will cost $572.
Anthem also has a HMO Saver plan that has $1,500 deductible, 20 percent co-insurance and $10 office visits. The premium for this plan is $639.
HealthNet
The Health Net HMO 15 has a premium of $724. This plan has a $1,000 deductable with zero percent co-insurance and $15 office visits.
