Digital News Report – Taco Bell President, Greg Creed, recorded a YouTube Video rebutting the lawsuit claiming the fast food chain does not use enough beef as advertised. The beef is USDA approved and then they add flavoring and spices said Creed.
Creed explained all the ingredients in the taco ground beef mix and 88 percent is of USDA inspected beef. The rest is made up of 3 percent water, 4 percent Mexican spices and seasonings, 5 percent is made up of oats, yeast, citric acid and other ingredients.
The complete ingredients have been itemized on the company’s tacobell.com website. Taco Bell writes on their website, “Our seasoned beef contains no “extenders” to add volume, as some might use.”
The lawsuit that was filed in Alabama law firm is basically asking for Taco Bell to label their ingredient as taco meat filling instead of seasoned meat. The law firm says that Taco Bell does not meet the requirements set forth by the USDA for correct labeling. The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court Central District of California Southern Division.
