Digital News Report – An earthquake near Thailand in Burma shook today, March 24, 2010 with a 6.8 magnitude and aftershocks that were 5.4 and a 4.8 magnitudes. The location was in the Myanmar or Burma which borders Thailand. The closest city was 55 miles of Chiang Rail, Thailand said the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The exact location was at 20.705°N, 99.949°E with a depth of 6.2 miles. The earthquake was felt in the northern part of Thailand near the borders of China.
Reports of damage was light and was felt in the nearest city and was reported by three individuals to the USGS and it felt strong. Other damage reports have not yet come in from this earthquake.
