Digital News Report – The 2011 Daytime Emmy awards gave two wins to ‘The Dr. Oz Show.’ The Emmy awards won last night were for Outstanding Informative Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host. However, The Outstanding Talk Show Host was a tie with Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.
This is the second year that the TV show has been on the air. There was also another Emmy award won for the first season of ‘The Dr. Oz Show.’
Dr. Mehmet Oz, M.D. got his start on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ when he answered all kinds of embarrassing medical questions people had. He took some of the things that he would do on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and brought it to his own show. Dr. Oz’s show also has added more segments to it. On ‘The Dr. Oz Show,’ they will have weight loss success stories, mini trivia games, and he always has an audience member come up to volunteer as his helper.
‘The Dr. Oz Show’ will be moved to the ABC network in the Fall and will take the place of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ time slot for 83 markets nationwide.
Dr. Mehmet Oz M.D. is a heart surgeon for his other job. He also has co-authored several books with Dr. Michael F. Roizen about improving a person’s health. The ‘You’ series books covers topics on beauty, weight loss, aging, and teen health.
