Digital News Report – Speeding up weight loss was discussed on today’s ‘Dr. Oz TV Show.’ This segment of the show had Kat Barefield Registered Dietitian share some ideas to help with losing weight. These tips can also be beneficial to people who have seen a plateau during their weight loss program.
Barefield said that success with weight loss is achieved by making changes. You have to throw your body a curve ball so that it will have to accommodate she adds. Additionally, she said that you should always make positive choices that you can see yourself doing for the rest of your life.
Drink Lemon Juice
The first tip that Barefield shared was to add new ingredients to your diet. She explained that drinking lemon juice might help to speed up weight loss because it contains citric acid. This ingredient can slow the stomach’s gastric emptying time. This can leave your stomach full for a longer time. Because of this you could end up eating less and find yourself losing weight.
Changing your Environment
Next, Barefield said that you should put your junk food and treats into the freezer in a plastic zippered bag. The reason why you want to hide the junk food and keep it out of sight is that a study found when tempting foods are easily around; you consume more of it without even thinking about it. If you have to go to the freezer, you have to make more of an effort to get the junk food and chances are you will probably eat less of it.
Remind yourself to Eat Every Four Hours
Barefield recommended using the mobile phone alarm to prompt a person to remember to eat every four hours. By eating on a regular schedule, you could lose weight be eating less calories in the long run. Many times people will get over hungry and they will overeat.
