Digital News Report – AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today that they would have two more 4G LTE mobile smartphones available for their customers starting on November 6, 2011. The company will also be launching their 4G LTE service the same day in Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Athens, Ga. AT&T will also expand 4G LTE service areas in nine markets this coming Sunday.
AT&T will have two new 4G LTE supported smartphones with the Google Android interface. The HTC Vivid and the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket will be available at the company’s retail stores and online on November 6. AT&T said that they are the only company to offer smartphones that are able to use both the LTE and the HSPA+ 4G speeds. AT&T will have 22 mobile smartphones with 4G support available after the launch of the two new phones.
AT&T will be launching for the 4G LTE service in the Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Athens, Georgia areas. Nine markets that already have 4G LTE service will have expanded coverage starting on November 6. These areas include Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. AT&T plans to offer the 4G LTE service in 15 markets with 70 million Americans being able to use the faster network by the end of the year.
