Digital News Report – Sam’s Club announced a new Military Discount Membership. The wholesale club retailer also announced that they will be giving out free canes to military veterans in need between November 9 and 11, 2011.
The Military Membership is for those who are current or retired military personnel, if their spouse is in the military, or for civilian military employees. When signing up with an Advantage Membership or an Advantage Plus membership, Sam’s Club will give a $15 Sam’s Club gift card to reflect the discount. Proof of military service is needed in order to get the $15 gift card.
On November 9 through 11, Sam’s Club along with AMG Medical will be giving away 36,000 folding canes free to Veterans that are in need of help getting around. Veterans do not have to have a membership to get the free cane, but they will need proof of U.S. military service to be eligible for the free cane. The canes will be given out at the Sam’s Club locations at their Pharmacy or at the Member Services Desk. There will be 60 canes at each US Sam’s Club location and they will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.
