Digital News Report – AT&T announced five new 4G LTE smartphones and a new tablet that are planned to roll out in the early part of 2012. The company will display the new products at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week in Las Vegas.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Smartphone will have a 5.3-inch format, which is smaller than a tablet, but bigger than most mobile phones.
The Pantech Element is expected to be launched on January 22, which will be priced under $300 and utilize the Google Android operating system. This will be the first LTE supported tablet under this price point. Another product, the Pantech Burst is a 4G LTE Smartphone that is priced under $50. AT&T is offering customers an offer to buy both on the same qualifying service contract and get the Element for $249.99 and the Burst phone would be free.
The Sony®1, the Xperia™ ion is expected to come out for AT&T’s 4G LTE platform in the second quarter of 2012.
The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD has a 1280×720 pixel AMOLED screen and is ultra-thin at 9.27 mm. This Smartphone and the Samsung Exhilarate were unveiled at the AT&T Developer Summit. The Samsung Exhilarate is the first 4G LTE Smartphone to meet environmental and sustainability standards, and the price of the mobile phone is planned for under $50.
