Digital News Report – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced the sixth location for their TSA pre-screening service at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The new service is being is called Pre✓™. The screening procedure at the airport is expedited for those that give more information about themselves to the agency before arriving to the airport.
So far, the program has been implemented at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Dallas/Fort Worth International, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County, Las Vegas’ McCarran International and Miami International airports. Around 250,000 passengers have participated in the pre-screening option at these airports so far.
The program is for domestic travel and are for eligible passenger, including members of Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS, who are U.S. citizens.
TSA will still do random searches of even the pre-screened flyers. So anticipate extra time to get to your flight, just in case.
