Digital News Report – The Academy Awards Ceremony will air on ABC this Sunday, February 26, 2012. The red carpet coverage begins at 1:30 p.m., PT /4:30 p.m. ET for Los Angeles viewers and some other syndicates around the country. The red carpet and ceremony is aired live on ABC starting at 7pm ET or 4 pm PT on all network syndicates. Billy Crystal returns for the ninth time as the host for the awards ceremony.
For those looking for even more coverage, on Sunday morning, “Good Morning America” will have live reporting from Hollywood on the Oscars.
Later on “On the Red Carpet” will have behind-the-scenes coverage of the Academy Awards. This will be on Los Angeles ABC networks and some other syndicated stations.
“One the Red Carpet at the Oscars” will be live coverage with Rachel Smith and George Pennacchio. This is scheduled to be on 1:30 pm Pacific Time and will air on Los Angeles’ ABC station. Other stations may broadcast this coverage, and would begin at 4:30 pm ET if available.
Another red carpet coverage is “Oscars Red Carpet Live,” which will air on ABC at 4 pm Pacific Time and 7 pm Eastern Time.
Then at 5:30 pm Pacific Time and 8:30 pm Eastern Time “The 84th Academy Awards” ceremony will air on ABC.
Following after the local news, is “Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards.” Jimmy Kimmel will be live at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Jimmy Kimmel is scheduled to have many celebrities on this special show.
Also available is coverage online at ABC’s Oscar.go.com website. There they will have coverage of the event.
The E! Channel will air “Live from the Red Carpet” coverage of the 84th annual Academy awards starting at 10:30 am Pacific time and 1:30 pm Eastern Time. They will also have a livestream online at eonline.com at 5:15 ET / 2:15 PT.
