Digital News Report- As rumors fly over Apple’s new Netbook, the third generation iPod Shuffle was released with a brand new voice. The new Shuffle is advertised as the world’s smallest music player at half the size of the previous model. It also holds up to 1,000 songs and, probably the most jarring change, it talks to you. That’s right, the new Shuffle will tell you the name of the song and artist that you are listening to.
“Imagine your music player talking to you, telling you your song titles, artists and playlist names,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of iPod and iPhone Product Marketing. “The amazingly small new iPod shuffle takes a revolutionary approach to how you listen to your music by talking to you, also making it the first iPod shuffle with playlists.”
The new Shuffle is smaller than a AA battery and includes the same features that made the previous versions popular such as randomly selecting songs from your music library. The new shuffle is set to retail at $79.
While the success of the new Shuffle remains to be seen, the online Mac community is buzzing about the possible new Netbook. According to Reuters, Apple has ordered touch screens that measure 10 inches diagonally from Wintek in Taiwan, which also made the touch screens for the iPhone.
Makes my Mp3 sound like an 8 track player. Interesting new technology. Thanks for the article.
