Digital News Report – The Los Conchas wildfire burning near Los Alamos, New Mexico, has burned 127,821 acres, and has reached 27 percent containment.
There has been 63 homes destroyed, with 410 homes that still remain threatened. There was 32 outbuildings that have been destroyed, and 110 remain threatened. No commercial property has been destroyed, however there are 45 commercial buildings that are still threatened.
The Los Alamos National Laboratory announced that they would be re-opening their facilities to all of their employees starting on July 6, 2011.
There are 2,196 fire personnel working on the Los Conchas wildfire. Fire officials have reported four injuries so far.
The Santa Fe National Forest has been closed on July 2nd. Several roads have been closed near the fire. To get a complete list of road closures visit http://nmroads.com.
