Digital News Report – Friday’s ‘The Dr. Oz Show’ was all about products that Doctor Oz gave his personal nod of approval. Dr. Oz said that all of the things were shown on the show are things that he personally had approved. He shared ways to help us sleep better, get rid of back pain, and foods to help with diet cravings. There were supplements and many other home remedies that he discussed on this informative TV show.
Back Pain
From the Far East comes moxibustion acupuncture, which adds herbs that are burned on the needles. This specialized acupuncture treatment was demonstrated on an audience member. An herb is placed on the acupuncture needle and infuses into the skin when it is heated up. It also warms the area to help loosen the muscles. The cost for a moxibustion treatment is between $60 – $200.

A plant called Rhodiola Rosea used in extreme climates and he recommended this as a way to reduce stress. Dr. Oz demonstrated how stress could create excess cortisol stress hormones. He said that the Rhodiola Rosea could help reduce the stress hormones. You can take Rhodiola Rosea as a supplement pill or as chips.
Boost Immune System
Himalayan Salt Inhaler might help boost the immune system. The salt inhaler is put in the mouth and the person breathes in through the mouth and out through the nose. He said that it would help to remove excess mucus. Dr. Oz said that the Himalayan salt is very pure and that is why he said to get that particular salt. Use the salt inhaler for about 15 minutes per day.

Sleep
Light Therapy he suggested to improve sleep. He said that the shade of blue helps us wake up, while the red lights helps us to fall asleep at night. The shades of light help imitate day light and might help to regulate how a person sleeps. Dr. Oz said that natural day light, such as blue lights help a person to wake up, and the red lights helps them to fall asleep. One color that has no blue light in it is an orange light. Change out a lamp with an orange light to read at night before bedtime. Also there is an orange monitor screen cover that will also help to block out the blue light. In the morning, a person wants to be exposed to about 15 minutes of the blue light to wake you better. There is a blue light appliance that would help to wake up a person in the morning.
Diet Cheat Foods

Chocolate cravings – Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies have 5 grams of fiber in a serving. He said that it is something that could be eaten occasionally.
Pasta – De Boles Spaghetti – made from Jerusalem Artichoke roots which is ground into a flour. It tastes just like regular pasta and contains inulin, which is a kind of fiber. Dr. Oz said this food has changed his life.
Chips and Dips – Garden of Eating Blue Corn Chips – Dr. Oz said that they chips do not have added salt and they are have antioxidants, zinc, and protein. The Wholly Double Dip guacamole, each 2 tablespoons have 35 calories.
Kashi Oatmeal Soft Baked Cookies – It is not low calorie, but there is a lot of nutrition he said. Because of the higher calories, Dr. Oz said that he would limit it to one cookie in a day.
Oz Family Approved Home Remedies
Bach Rescue Remedy – Bach Flowers is a compound of five flowers and has been around since the 1930’s. It is a stress remedy. Take four drops on the tongue. Use on the kids to help calm them down. Dr. Oz said that it might be a placebo.

From one of his daughters came the recommendation of Lavender oil for small burns. The oil might help with the healing process and ease some of the pain.
Dr. Oz’s son and daughter recommended pain remedies. His daughter likes Arnica Gel Homeopathic as a home remedy for bruises. His son likes Epsom salt to ease sore muscles.
From his oldest daughter, was recommended peppermint essential oil applied at the side of the eyes at the temples to help with headaches.
Upset stomachs – Dr. Oz’s wife said that aloe juice helps her with an upset stomach.
Dr Oz Approved Super Food – Wheat Germ

Pina Logiudice is a Superfoods expert that explained the benefits of wheat germ that Dr. Oz recommended today. Logiudice said that wheat germ is good for weight loss because it has a high amount of B-vitamins, which helps a person’s mood when dieting. There is fiber in the wheat germ and this can help with cravings. You can take wheat germ as a flakes, oil, and capsule supplement. There is also fermented wheat germ.
Breakfast – Sprinkle 2 tablespoon of wheat germ on yogurt or bowl of cereal. Make a smoothie and add wheat germ.
Lunch – Make a salad dressing with Wheat germ. Logiudice showed how to make a Wheat Germ Salad Dressing Recipe by combining 1/3 cup cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard, 1 tablespoon Tarragon, 5 tablespoons Wheat Germ Oil, 2 tablespoons Wheat Germ, Salt & Pepper and 1 tablespoon of honey. Shake all ingredients to mix. Put dressing on the salad.
Lodiudice said that when we lose weight our body releases the cholesterol and the wheat germ can bind to the cholesterol and help to remove extra cholesterol.
Snack – Popcorn and sprinkle on 2 tablespoon of wheat germ on top. Dr. Oz said you could put a little bit of oil to help it stick.
Dinner – Wheat Germ coated on Salmon – Mix 3 tablespoons wheat germ, 1 ½ teaspoon Mustard Powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and ¼ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper and coat the mixture on the salmon. Fry it in a pan with a little bit of oil.

Saggy Underarms – Dr. Oz showed a Yoga exercise that would help. He showed almost a downward dog pose, but instead you are on your forearms instead of your hands. Then move the butt down lower and bring it back up again. Alternate these positions about every 10 seconds.
Under Eye bags – Dr. Oz recommended Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firm Eye Tightener. Dr. Oz showed the eye bags on himself and how this product worked. It was very noticeable how well the product worked.
