Digital News Report – The medium mountain Stage 7 was completed on July 10th with Sylvain Chavanel from France winning this part of the Tour de France cycling race for 2010. The 97th annual Tour de France bicycle race is entering into the mountain stage of the race for July 11th – July 13th, with July 12th being a rest day. There are a total of six mountain stages in this year’s race.
Sylvain Chavanel also won stage 2 of the Tour de France road race. The other leading competitors are Alessandro Petacchi from Italy and Mark Cavendish from Isle of Man who both have won two stages of the race each.
There are a total of 20 stages to the race and will end on July 25th, 2010 in Paris France. The course this year covers a total of 2,263 miles.
