Digital News Report – The Federal Communications Commission is making ways for Super Wi-Fi technologies by allocating the white spaces between TV Channels to be used for the new fast Internet connection. The FCC adopted a Second Memorandum Opinion and Order (Second MO&O) which outlines the legal and technical requirments for Super Wi-Fi providers to follow.
The term “Super Wi-Fi” will help the wireless Internet to travel farther distances by using lower-frequency white spaces that is found between TV channel frequency ranges. The goal is to open up the white space frequencies at no cost. This is much like the regulare Wi-Fi and also Bluetooth devices that use the airways to transmit data.
The digital e-book readers and the new tablet computers that are starting to become popular, Wi-Fi will become more important than ever before for consumers. Mobile Broadband Internet providers will be able to reach farther to more homes that might be stuck with slow dial up connections.
