Taylor Swift sells 1 million copies of ‘Speak Now’ album in First Week

Digital News Report – According to the Billboard 200 chart, Taylor Swift has reached number 86 for her ‘Speak Now’ album and has sold over 1 million copies the first week of sales.

In total, Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now’ album sold 1,047,000 copies during its first week of sales. She is one of only 16 other artists to accomplish this said the Nielson SoundScan survey which began in 1991.

Swift was out promoting the new album, by performing on NBC’s ‘Today Show’, and also being interviewed in several magazines.

Nielson SoundScan also reported that Swift’s ‘Speak Now’ album sales accounted for 18 percent of all albums sold.
