Digital News Report – California State Senator Mark Wyland believes education is the key to the state’s success. He says that it is unfortunate that our schools are suffering from “many ailments”, but there is a solution.
The senator has joined other public officials in their support of pre-school. Also, he announced that he is joining San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis to ensure that all students can read and write English.
He says that the state drop-out rate is near 20% and in some areas the rate is over 50%. “By ensuring all students can read and write English as well as have access to career technical training, we can count on a more productive citizenry,” he said in a statement.
