Digital News Report – The day after the Academy Awards ceremony it is tradition to analyze the best and worst dressed at the Oscars for 2011. What is interesting is that there are many different ideals on what is considered the best and worst dressed. Some actresses were trying out fashions not scene before which made it seem like an unreal world. These actresses take big chances with fashion at times to make it in the worst or best dressed categories. What would you wear?
After checking out what fashion experts had to say about the dresses, you could see that there was many different ideas of what was the best and worst dressed at the Oscars this year. However, there was quite a few agreements of the best and the worst gowns on the red carpet. Some stars got both categories.
More seemed to favor Michelle Williams white polka dot textured gown with her platinum blond short hairstyle. Anne Hathaway’s red dress on the arriving to the event seemed to get the thumbs up. Penelope Cruz received some positive feedback on her red sequined gown. Gwyneth Paltrow has a slim cut silky gown that got good reviews as well. There was mixed feelings about Halle Berry, Mandy Moore, Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Hudson, some fashion critiques loved it while others hated it.
There seemed to be an trend toward the worst dressed at the Oscars this year. Nicole Kidman did not get favorable reviews on her dress this year. Her usually slim figure was engulfed in a hip expanding dress that had too much embroidery going on in the mid section. The other unanimously ugly dress was worn by actress Cate Blanchett which was reminiscent of grandma’s bedspread. No one seemed to be a fan of Helena Bonham Carter’s look either.
Some websites have made it possible for visitors to vote on how much they like each gown that the actress wore at the Academy Awards.
