Digital News Report – A Sonoma County judge halted plans by the Bohemian Club to harvest Douglas fur and redwood trees. A plan to harvest 1 million board feet was approved by the state but the Sierra Club filed a lawsuit to halt the 100-year logging arrangement.
The Bohemian Grove, located 75 miles north of San Francisco, is a campground owned by a private San Francisco-based men’s art club known as the Bohemian Club.
The Grove is a campground dating back to 1878. It is noteworthy because of the members and the unusual rituals that take place during summer encampments. The club offers temporary memberships to Presidents and other influential business and political leaders.
The Grove Play, an annual large-scale musical production, came under scrutiny in 2000 when Alex Jones and his cameraman infiltrated the facility. They witnessed a Cremation of Care ceremony and created a documentary, “Dark Secrets: Inside Bohemian Grove”, on the subject.
In his film, Jones claims the play was a reenactment of an “ancient Canaanite, Luciferian, Babylon mystery religion ceremony”. The ceremony was said to be marked with dark ritualism and dates back to 1881.
