Digital News Report- Fans of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies are in for a long wait for the next installment. Nolan has signed a deal with Warner Brothers to direct a movie called Inception, which is set to begin filming this summer and hit theaters in 2010. Inception is a science fiction action film based on Nolan’s own script and will be produced by his wife, Emma Thomas.
There was a three-year wait between the first two films due to Christian Bale’s role in The Prestige. The long wait between the two films left fans anxious, but when The Dark Knight was finally released it became the second highest grossing film of all time.
“Chris Nolan is a visionary filmmaker who continually raises the bar with each movie he makes,” said Warner Brothers president Jeff Robinov. “We are thrilled to be collaborating again with him and Emma on this exciting new motion picture.” Warner Brothers also produced the Batman films.
I am probably in the minority, but I would rather see “Inception”. Batman is good, but a Sci Fi action movie sounds better.
I’m excited for both. The wait for the second film paid off. It was amazing. I hope this long wait pays off as well.
