Legendary Hollywood director William Friedkin, best known for his Oscar-winning 1971 crime thriller The French Connection and the landmark 1973 horror film The Exorcist, has died at the age of 87. Friedkin passed away in Los Angeles on August 7th due to heart failure and pneumonia.
